The Hotel

Sunset Station Hotel-Casino

Corflu Glitter will be held at the Sunset Station Hotel-Casino in Henderson, NV. It is located on the east side of the Vegas Valley, adjacent to Las Vegas.

The three previous Las Vegas Corflus all took place Downtown. That was an exciting and colorful setting, to be sure, but Sunset Station brings its own brand of excitement. The hotel is gorgeous, built only about 10 years ago and modern in every way.

Guest Accommodations

Sunset Station has set aside rooms in the same building as the Corflu meeting and banquet rooms. There are three floors of non-smoking rooms, including the Main Consuite, and one floor of smoking rooms, including the Smoking Consuite.

The double occupancy rooms are available with two queen-size beds or one king-size bed. Up to two additional people can stay in a guest room at the additional cost of $15 per extra person per day.

Room rates are $55 Sunday through Thursday, $85 for Friday and Saturday nights. Most of the better Vegas hotels charge a “resort” or “amenities” fee, but Sunset Station has waived this $12.99-a-day fee for Corflu Glitter attendees.

Smoking at Corflu Glitter

Sunset Station doesn’t permit smoking in any public areas except the casino. It’s possible for someone moving between the building with the rooms and the main hotel without ever passing through a smoking area. This is a shortcut that requires passing through a partially open and well-ventilated portion of the casino.

The Main Consuite is on one of the three non-smoking floors. The Smoking Consuite is located on the only floor in the building where smoking is permitted.

Dining at Sunset Station

Sunset Station is located on Las Vegas’ eastside, across the street from the Galleria Mall, which has many shops and restaurants, a food court and a huge Wal-Mart. More restaurants can be found in the strip centers that border the Sunset Station property.

Sunset Station itself has an array of restaurants: The Grand Café is 24/7 with a big menu, pleasant service and pretty good food. The Sonoma Cellars Steakhouse, Capri Italian Ristorante and Guadalajara (Southwest) are the main restaurants. Sunset Station also has the well-regarded Feast buffet and a Wings & Things next to the Race and Sports book. The Food Court has a Fatburger, Starbucks, Viva Salsa, Subway, Panda Express, Sbarro and Ben & Jerry’s. And if you just don’t want to leave your room, there’s round-the-clock room service, too.
